The pieces are self-similar and yet all individually different, cut by CAD/CAM technologies and manually assembled interlocking one another via dove tail connection joints. The many discreet elements come together producing an elegant and yet functional ensemble for a unique dining piece. The design is inspired by and follows the principle of reciprocal frames, a class of self-supporting structure where every piece relies on each other requiring no centre support. Y Table fuses traditional joinery and digital fabrication and celebrate contemporary design at its best.
